Section 1
Scope

This document contains policies specific to the Citation CJ4 Gen2 (CE-525) type rating program. These supplement and are subordinate to the Apex Jet Academy Master Policies & Procedures (policies-jet.html). Where this document and the master policy address the same topic, the more restrictive provision governs.

Section 2
Program-Specific Policies
Enrollment Prerequisites
All prerequisites must be verified before deposit processing. The Director of Training may waive the 50-hour multiengine recommendation for applicants with documented turboprop PIC time equivalent in complexity. Concurrent enrollment in another Apex program is not permitted.
Pre-Course eLearning
Minimum 20 hours; 80% pass all modules. CJ4 Gen2 pre-course covers Pro Line Fusion avionics in significant depth — students who arrive without completing the FMS modules will not keep pace with the on-campus ground school schedule. The pre-course is not optional.
Weather Minimums — Aircraft Phase
Session 1 requires VMC or marginal VMC (ceiling not below 3,000 ft / 5 SM KFXE). Sessions 2 and 3 may be conducted in actual IMC (ceiling not below 800 ft / 2 SM at KFXE and destination airport). Thunderstorm exclusion: no aircraft phase flight within 20 NM of any convective activity.
Practical Test
The TCE schedules the practical test. Students do not contact the FSDO or independent DPEs. The TCE has authority to delay the practical test if the aircraft phase sessions reveal areas requiring additional training — this is not subject to appeal by the student. KFXE ramp operations during the practical test are conducted per normal traffic procedures.
Cancellation Policy
Same as HA-420: 14+ days notice — no charge; 7–13 days — $1,500 fee; under 7 days or no-show — full deposit forfeit; medical cancellation with documentation — full deposit credit within 12 months.
Post-Completion Currency
Annual 61.58 proficiency check required. Apex recurrent $20,000 (14 hrs FFS + 3 hrs aircraft). Currency lapse over 6 months: full recurrent program required.
Section 3
ITAR Compliance

Non-U.S. persons must complete ITAR pre-enrollment screening before the training record is opened. Contact itar@apexjetacademy.com. Misrepresentation of nationality or immigration status in ITAR screening is a federal crime — up to $1,000,000 per violation and 20 years imprisonment under 22 CFR Parts 120–130.
