223 training devices.
81 Level D.
One facility.

The largest business aviation simulation complex ever assembled — 4.1 times larger than CAE's largest dedicated business aviation facility. Operational 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Every device available independently of the aircraft training program.

Full motion. Full visual. Full fidelity.

FAA Level D is the highest qualification standard for full flight simulators — full six-axis motion platform, wide-angle visual system, aircraft-representative cockpit, and an instructor station with complete scenario control. No exceptions, no lower-tier devices used for type rating training at Apex.

81 Level D FFS units covering all 30 aircraft types in the fleet means concurrent type rating training at a scale no other business aviation facility on earth can approach. A Gulf carrier can bring 15 crews for simultaneous G700 recurrent programs. Apex can accommodate it.

Simulator-only training events run at simulator rates — significantly lower than programs requiring aircraft. The Level D complex supports standalone simulator events, proficiency checks, LOFT scenarios, and upset recovery training on request, without the requirement to purchase a full type rating program.

Six-axis motion platform
Full hexapod motion system with ±25° pitch and roll, ±18° yaw, and translational motion in all three axes. Represents the full dynamic envelope of each aircraft type including V1 cuts, rejected takeoffs, turbulence, windshear, and landing flare.
Wide-angle visual system
200° horizontal by 40° vertical minimum field of view. Day, dusk, and night scenarios at every training airport. Sensor fusion for synthetic vision integration matching actual aircraft avionics. EFVS-compatible display systems for aircraft equipped with enhanced flight vision.
Aircraft-representative cockpit
Every FFS cockpit is built to aircraft manufacturer specifications — same layout, same switch throw, same control feel as the actual aircraft. Avionics software versions matched to fleet aircraft. Flight management system databases current at all times.
Instructor station
Full scenario control: weather (from VMC to zero-zero), system failures (400+ configurable failure modes), traffic density, terrain, lighting, and ATC scripts. Session recording for debrief playback from any angle. Remote freeze, reset, and reposition.

Full fleet coverage.

How we specified the complex.

Primary Manufacturer
CAE Inc. — 75 FFS units
CAE was selected as primary supplier on the basis of fleet coverage depth, Level D qualification track record across business aviation types, and 20-year parts commitment. 75 of the 81 Level D FFS units are CAE products. Perpetual software licenses negotiated for all CAE units.
Secondary Manufacturer
L3Harris — Challenger 300/3500
L3Harris selected for the CL-300 type certificate FFS units based on specific expertise with Bombardier Challenger architecture. 4 Level D FFS units. Same contractual standards apply: perpetual software license, 10-year spare parts guarantee, data package transferability.
OEM-Authorized
Boeing Simulation — BBJ MAX 9
Boeing-manufactured and qualified B-737 MAX full flight simulators for BBJ MAX 9 programs. Required for MCAS-accurate simulation fidelity and MAX-specific avionics compliance. 2 Level D units operated under Boeing Simulation maintenance agreement.
Non-Negotiable Terms
Contract standards applied to all
All simulator contracts require: perpetual software licenses (no subscription expiry), avionics software version matching on 90-day update cycle, 10-year spare parts supply guarantee, source code escrow for all simulation software, Level D qualification warranted by contract.
Qualification
FAA Level D — all 81 units
Every FFS unit carries FAA Level D qualification. Qualification testing conducted by FAA Flight Standards with Apex check airmen present. Requalification events scheduled annually for all units, with results disclosed to institutional contract partners on request.
Availability
20 hours/day scheduled · 24 hours/day available
Scheduled training runs 06:00–02:00 daily. FFS access available 24/7 by arrangement for institutional clients under Tier 3 and Tier 4 contracts. Unscheduled access priced at published FFS rate. No blackout dates.
