Program Structure

Four phases. One credential.

Every Apex program — from the HondaJet initial type rating to the BBJ MAX 9 — follows the same four-phase structure. The hours change. The standard does not.

01
Remote Ground School
Self-paced eLearning before arriving on campus. Aircraft systems, limitations, normal and emergency procedures, regulations, and performance planning. Completed before the student sets foot at KFXE — so campus time is spent flying, not reading manuals.
15 – 80 hours · Remote

Cockpit Procedures Trainer
First days on campus. Non-motion cockpit trainer for flows, callouts, switch locations, avionics logic, and chair-flying procedures without consuming FFS time. Available 24 hours per day — students set their own pace in Phase 02.

Level D Full Flight Simulator
All emergency and abnormal procedures, instrument approaches to minimums, V1 cuts, windshear, upset recovery, LOFT. Every scenario the actual aircraft cannot safely reproduce. No student goes to the aircraft until the Chief Standards Pilot certifies simulator proficiency.

ULR aircraft operate at the highest end of business aviation complexity — RVSM, ETOPS, advanced fuel planning, oceanic operations, and long-duty-period crew management. The aircraft operating cost per flight hour is significantly higher than any other category, which is reflected in ULR pricing. HondaJet Elite II Type Rating
Entry point for the Apex Pipeline. Initial type rating in the lightest aircraft in the fleet — building jet currency, type certificate familiarity, and actual aircraft time before moving to heavier types.
